SITUATION OF EDUCATION IN PAKISTAN
Education is food for intellectual….. It is said where education is equal, how society will be equal.
Pakistan is a Islamic republic state according to constitution (973 Article 25 (A) right to education “The state shall be provide free and compulsory education to all of children five to sixteen”, Pakistan is a under develop country unfortunately Pakistan has educational system based on class segregation still bring follow without paying any have to reform. The multi-tier consists of O-level, A-level, The Educator, government Run School, Low level private institution, Madarsas, a city change of school and elite ones.
Etymologically it refers to training, teaching, learning and skills developing specially in school, colleges…. Etc, it start from basic to advance and become more moderate day by day as per according to need of time it is food for intellectual and nourishment for the scholar and help into promote national integrity and remove in equality and other evils i.e, corruption, terrorism etc. as almighty declare in Holy Quran. “are those equal, those who know and those who do not know? it is those who are endued with understanding that remember” (Al-Quran-39: 9).
The message of Holy Quran is clear to ponder, to know and to read, as supported by Hadees “after the obligation deeds nothing is more beloved to ALLAH then studying know ledge” Imam Shaafi.
Since the inception of Pakistan is faced several developmental challenges that have been left under unaddressed for far to long, among the most debilitating – water scarcity, energy, crises economic instability and the education missing priorities. The world economic form release early reported title “The Human Capital Report” in 2016 addition; Pakistan is rank 118 out of 130 countries, according to report Pakistan bank is following south Asia at bottom like Rawanda 70.5%, Haiti 57.3%, and benin 38.4% low literacy rate in south Asia 70.2%.
Today the problem of education system in Pakistan are describe by educationist; large number of out of school children; very low learning outcomes wide achievement gap; in adequate teacher afford; low education budget; lack of infra structure including; excess building and transportation; intervention of politics, corruption and misspending.
After the eighteen amendment because of provincial autonomy power it transfer to provinces, increase the involvement of untrained policy maker and politics in education which create disparity in education system as recently murder of Mishal Khan was a collective failure of all institution especially education. In Pakistan 7mn children out of school, it is said “children are the real wealth of any nation” which describe the future of any nation, it hit Pakistan drastically if it not controlled at early, this will increase street crime, child labour and other social crime. It is state obligatory duty to provide basic tools for those children who are unable to get education.
Ata-ur-Rehman always suggest education should be on “knowledge based economy” as we see around as are advance due to high literacy rate Sri-Lanka (92.6), Pakistan (57.9), Maldives (99.3), Iran (86.8), China (96.3), India (74.4), Cuba (99.8), Bangladesh (61.5).
Only seven developing countries in the world have lower public spending on education these are; Bangladesh, central Africa republic, Dominican republic, Eretria labnon and Zambia these countries economy is unsustain due to low literacy rate.
Education play imported role to shipping society determine is developing trajectory unfortunately half of Pakistan population unable to read and write specially in Rural and Baluchistan where literacy ratio 23pc and 16pc respectively.
Education is arise how we over come to this worstly situation, as it is international issue in SDG’s point “provide equality education which can be implement through unified education system where one medium of instructions, should applied overall corner of lingual issues”. Government organized scholarship program and financial support for those students who belong to poor family and also given program like Benazir Income Support, Prime Minister Youth Program….etc.
One of major issue curriculum that will be integrated, which may help to develop personality of the person according to need of time, library should be arrange at city or in school, colleges….etc.
In bird views education situation in Pakistan not efficient that’s way our economy is in back word so it is high time to declare education emergency a cross Pakistan either are society will be fragmented.
