Thatta is
known for its history, archeological sites and literature. Apart from Makli
graveyard claimed to be one of the biggest site of deads, other historical and archaeological
sites are found in the corner of Thatta. ports, forts castle, forts, monuments,
shrines, mosques, and other places need more research. These are topics of
anthropology, archeology and history. Soonda is one of the important historical
heritages.
Little
material is found in written history on Soonda. Rather there are cross
references are available.
The ancient
archaelogical sites of Soonda are nearer to Hyderabad, situated about 20-22
miles from Thatta-Hyderabad road. This village was respected by Muslims as a
noble family of saints known as Makhdoom Ramzan Vendani,Mula Ari,MulaBayzid and
Mula Abu Bakar. The common people often visit the graves of these saintly
personalities.
The ancient
cemetery, mosques, graves, old castles and forts are still there but in
depleted condition. The graves of the Soonda are made up of yellow stones and
that stone was taken from nearer mountains. At present time, these graves seem
to be ruins. Sad to see the destruction of ancient places, like heritage,
hundreds of pieces of Soonda are near to eradicate.
There are
different carvings like riders, archers, swords and other sculptures are made
on the graves which show that they are the graves of warriors. According to
Archaeological Survey of India, on March 31,1919 the archaeological works were
extremely impressive. These graves are at height of 8, 10 and 12 feet. The
graves of women and children were decorated. There is also an umbrella like
eight pools on which a dome is constructed. It contains Kashi’s color plates, in
addition, this dome is depilated condition and at verge of destruction.
The
memorable Mughal Eidgah is still present on the top of the Soonda cemetery. The
dome on both sides of walls is made up to 12 feet high. On the corner of
cemetery inside the dome, the stairs are made to go to Eidgah.
A small
Mughal mosque was built below the stairs where prayers are performed. At the
backside of Eidgah, the beautiful view of River Indus is worth seeing. There
are many historical and authentic books on Soonda’s importance.
Geographically
Soonda is the fertile area of the best climate based on its location. There are
two lakes in the history one is golden lake and the other is Keenjhar Lake. These
both lakes were in the same region but now the Golden lake is mixed with the
Keenjhar lake. Despite its rich history and beauty, parts of Soonda site are in
a state of decay. Due to recent floods, vandalism, trash and damage to the
structural integrity of some tombs, the sites need renovation and conservation
efforts in recent years. It remains one of the most important landmarks in the
History of Pakistan. Anyone who finds themselves in Pakistan especially the
Sindh region must take the time to visit this man-made Wonders.

SOONDA HISTORY
Thatta is a
historian archeology a great civilization knowledge and literature consequently, there is a great
authenticity in the whole world.Historical archaelogical sites are found in the
corner of Thatta.Thatta need research on ports, coat
castle,forts,monuments,shrines,mosques,palaces,graves,and other archaelogical
sites because historian artifacts in various areas of Thatta have been very
narrowly written. They include Soonda ancient historical hertiage.Historical
books show silence on soonda’s history. If a book is written on the authenticity
of soonda in a few lines it do not seem
justice to the ancient works.
The ancient
archaelogical sites of soonda are nearer to hyderabad,it is situated about
20-22 miles from Thatta-Hyderabad road. The village was respected by Muslims as
a noble family of saints known as Makhdoom lived there.Names of Makhdoom Ramzan
vendani,Mula Ari,Mula Bayzid and Mula Abu Bakar are well renowned for their
pious living. The common people very often visited the graves of these saintly
personalities situated in the graveyard.Human representation on these graves
are one of the unique feature of the Tombs. The ancient
cemetery, mosques, graves, old castles and forts are still significant today. The
graves of the soonda graveyard are made up of Yellow stones. This stone was
pulled out by the nearer mountains. At present time, the condition of these
graves are extreme and the signs of most graves have been destroyed. It is sad
to see the destruction of ancient places, like ancient heritage, hundreds of
pieces of soonda are near to eradicate. The graves present at soonda cemetery
are Chaukhandi Peer Baja Bazaar,Palechani cemetery inside keenjhar,Makli
cemetery,Pir Pitto cemetery,Dargah Shah Hussain Gju and Tharri Nzgaj cemetery.
There are
different carvings made on the graves of soonda graveyard like
riders, archers, swords and other sculptures which shows that they are the graves
of warriors and also represent their
ranks.According to Archaeological Survey of India,on 31 March,1919,the archaeological works were
extremely spectacular. These graves are at height of 8,10 and 12 feet. The graves
of women and children were decorated in different parts of the soonda
cemetery. There is also a umbrella like eight pool on which a dome is consist. It
contains Kashi’s color plates. On the door there is persian writting along with
eight graves. In addition to this, the condition of this dome is extremely
dangerous it is possible that this diminished dome might fall at any time.Going
inside it is risky at all.Dark books are silent about the graves of people in
soonda but historians have estimates that these graves are mostly of the Baloch
nation. In historical refrences, soonda jhark par lakhu has written the same letter
to the graveyard and golden history of Balochs, written by the Henry kings,is
situated at a distance of 100 meters to the cemetry which lies from soonda. The
same history is observed that the main graves of soonda’s grave are from the
Baloch nation.According to Henry kings,Lashari baloch was written on one of the
tomb. That is why the majority of the burried people in the soonda cemetery are
of balochi tribes. It is possible that Lashari baloch fought war also with other
tribes and soldiers which were killed in the war have been burried here.Soonda
and jhark peopleand the people of nearer areas were in the limits of River
khan. The spy-bearer had settled all the battles of the baloch tribes of
thatta. In the same way,it could also be said that the tomb of these graves were
from baloch nation.
The
memorable Mughal Eidgah of the Mughal era is still present on the top of the
soonda cemetery in a full state. It is simple festival. It owns the simple
beautiful yellow stone on the prayer mat of the imams. The dome on both sides of
walls are made up to 12 feet high.On the corner of cemetery inside the dome, the
stairs are made to go to Mughal Eidgah.A small Mughal mosque has also been
built below the stairs. It has been built again where prayers are performed. The
important monuments of Mughal era are also giving more importance to the
history of soonda. At the backside of Mughal Eidgah,it shows the beautiful view
of River Indus. It has been a major cultural center in the past, instead of an
atmosphere of health. There are many historical and authentic books on soonda’s
significance. The English historian Henry king’s has closed the ancient history
of soonda and jhark cemetery in his books. This book is important, authentic
about the history of soonda and get more information. It is also recorded in the
same book that the graves of the hundreds riders are the soonda graveyard. One
of the English historian consider the soonda and the jhark mountains are
composed with the stone periods. The weapons are also found near the mountain of
jhark.Research on this area can lead to a long history.Mr Corner, who has been
interested in the history, has also paused these principles. In Docter Nabi Baksh
Khan’s book “Jhang-e-Nama”,Maulai Shehdai book “Jannat-ul-Sindh” and many
others book the history of soonda can be found.
Soonda is
the fertile area of the best climate based on its location. There are two lakes
in the history one is Golden lake and the other is Keenjhar lake. These both
lakes are in the same region. Now the Golden lake is mixed with the Keenjhar
lake, now it becomes the one and the same lake.the mention of the soonda’s land
